Frequently asked questions
About screening, privacy, and the limits of self-assessment.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. Every questionnaire on Ramchirs is a screening tool — a research-validated way to describe patterns in your experiences. A diagnosis requires a clinical evaluation by a qualified professional who can consider your full history and context.
Do I need an account?
No. You can take any available screening anonymously, see your full results, and download a report — all without an account. An account only adds saving, tracking over time, and reminders.
What happens to my answers?
Anonymous screenings are scored entirely in your browser. Your responses never leave your device, are never sent to advertisers, and are never used for advertising targeting. If you create an account and explicitly choose to save a result, it is stored with your consent under our privacy policy.
Who develops Ramchirs?
Ramchirs is an independent mental health education platform. Clinical content is prepared for professional review, and every instrument's licensing and review status is published openly. The platform is developed by Versec LLC.
How often should I repeat a screening?
It depends on the purpose. For tracking a concern over time, many clinicians suggest intervals of 2–6 weeks, guided by a professional. Repeating screenings compulsively — multiple times a day, checking for changes — is itself a pattern worth discussing with a professional. Screening is a tool for reflection, not a monitoring device for reassurance.
Why do some questionnaires say 'pending license' or 'pending clinical review'?
Because we publish statuses honestly. Questionnaires are copyrighted instruments; using them requires permission from their rights holders. Interpretation texts must be reviewed by qualified clinicians before publication. We show exactly where each instrument stands in that process, and we do not offer questionnaires whose gates are not cleared.
Can I take a screening for my child?
Some instruments are designed for parent/observer report; others are strictly self-report. On assessment pages you can choose the assessment subject — the options shown reflect what the instrument is validated for. A screening is never a substitute for a professional assessment of a child.
I am a clinician. How can I help review content?
We welcome clinical review of interpretations, condition guides, and resources. Use the contact form and select 'Clinical correction'. Reviewers' credentials are recorded in our review log, and approved content displays reviewer attribution.
Does Ramchirs sell data to advertisers?
No. Anonymous screenings are scored in your browser and never reach our servers. Screening data is never shared with advertisers, clinics, or any third party. Advertising, when enabled, appears only on public content pages, never on questionnaires, results, dashboards, account pages, PDFs, crisis, or contact pages — and no assessment data is ever transmitted to ad networks.
Is my result a diagnosis?
No — this is the most important question on this page, and the answer is always the same: screening is not diagnosis. A diagnosis requires a clinical evaluation by a qualified professional who can consider your full history, context, and functioning.
This assessment is an informational screening tool, not a medical diagnosis. Results are based on your responses and should not replace evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional.
